Job description: You will collaborate closely with other junior and senior IAS researchers on both client-directed portfolio research projects, the development of portfolio construction methodologies, and the study of asset class risk and return characteristics. You will be responsible for assisting with responding to client multi-sector investment needs and requests, developing methodologies to pursue client investment objectives, crafting and performing simulations, and formulating and conducting research projects. Much of the research is conducted on a confidential basis for clients, but some may be shared more broadly in conference presentations and publications. Major Responsibilities: 1. Partnering with the IAS team to carry out the Group’s research program; 2. Modeling the expected returns of traditional and alternative assets, including their linkages between each other and with macroeconomic and market factors; 3. Assisting with the design and implementation of research projects; 4. Collaborating with senior IAS researchers to build and maintain long-term capital market assumptions, using the methodologies and insights of affiliates; 5. Assisting in writing research reports and client presentations.

Requirement: 1. 3-5 years of experience in investment management, with a focus on portfolio modeling and asset class (fixed income, equity, commodity and currency) level research; 2. Knowledge of private equity, debt and real estate markets is a plus; 3. An ability to utilize large data sets in a highly reliable, organized and timely manner; 4. A deep understanding of statistical methods (i.e., regression and time series analysis), risk modeling, optimization and simulation methodologies; 5. Experience using Matlab, Python, R or other programming languages; 6. Good understanding of portfolio and finance theory; 7. A demonstrated ability to express ideas clearly and effectively; 8. Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., economics, finance, computational finance, and applied mathematics). An MS/PhD degree is a plus; 9. Progress toward the CFA designation is useful; 10. An ability and willingness to work with others, often under time pressure; 11. Strong attention to detail and process; 12. Strong investment and financial markets intuition; 13. A creative thinker who can suggest alternative research solutions and ideas; 14. A self-starter, someone who can work productively without constant supervision.
